Sara Berry, LISW
Coralville and Telehealth

I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker providing individual psychotherapy to adults 18+, specializing in ADHD. I work collaboratively to help clients understand the contexts shaping their lives, build on strengths, and discover new ways to live with greater balance and authenticity. I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to healing, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where vulnerability is met with empathy.

I especially enjoy working with young adults, college students, and those newly diagnosed with ADHD. As an ADHDer myself, I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience. I’m also passionate about supporting women across the lifespan, including perinatal mental health, parenting, or those in high-stress careers. My experience includes areas of anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, self-esteem, perfectionism, trauma, and relationship issues.

My style is warm, conversational, and rooted in curiosity. I practice through a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and LGBTQ+ affirming lens, honoring the whole person and the many factors shaping their wellbeing. I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs, drawing from ACT, IFS, DBT, and Narrative modalities, often integrating mindfulness and compassion-focused techniques. Whether navigating a specific challenge or seeking overall mental wellness, I aim to help clients feel seen, supported, and understood as they build their own path to healing. I hold a BA in Journalism and an MSW from the University of Iowa. My transition into social work felt natural, both paths based on listening deeply, giving voice to lived experience, and empowering others. I’ve been practicing since 2012 in a variety of community, school, and clinical settings. Outside of work, I’m a mom, nature lover, social justice advocate, coffee enthusiast, and devoted pet owner.
